TPS congratulates Professor Po-Tsun Liu on being honored as a "2023 ECS Fellow" by the Electrochemical Society (ECS)!

ECS Overview:

The Electrochemical Society (ECS) has been established for 120 years (since 1921). Its founding mission aims to advance the international development of solid-state electronics, optoelectronics, electrochemistry technology, and related scientific theories. Currently, ECS has over 10,000 individual members from more than 80 countries and over 100 corporate and laboratory members. ECS annually confers the title of Fellow to recognize individuals' significant contributions and achievements in the fields of solid-state science and electrochemical technology (this honor represents only 0.1% of the membership, with roughly 15 individuals globally each year).

ECS membership includes many distinguished scientists, engineers, and Nobel Prize winners, such as Thomas A. Edison (joined in 1903 and enjoyed 28 years of membership), Gordon Moore (co-founder of Intel), Yutaka Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano, and Shuji Nakamura (inventors of blue LED, joint recipients of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics), Rudolph Marcus (1992 Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureate), Richard Smalley (1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureate), and Jack Kilby (2000 Nobel Prize in Physics laureate).
